Buy Local, Buy Organic

Why should you buy locally grown, organic fruits and vegetables?  The idea is growing and more and more accepted that even small doses of pesticides and chemicals can have an adverse affect on people, especially those at vulnerable periods of their life such as the fetus and young children.  These exposures can have long lasting affects for the future generations.  Since little is known and in many cases this exposure is unstudied, the least amount of exposure possible is best.  Let's look at our past experiences and learn from them.  To error on the side of caution would be best.
