Guidelines for using Value Added Food Items
to Augment Your Regular Product Line
Regular vendors may sell, on an occasional basis, food items they have prepared
at home in accordance with the following guidelines:
1. These food items cannot be more than 25% of what you sell daily
.
2. Main ingredient must be from your farm or garden, or purchased at the
Farmers' Market.
Example:
raspberry scones must contain berries from your garden/farm, or from a
vendor
the Market.
3. Generally speaking, the following foods are considered "safe foods" by
Panhandle Health:
1. fresh
fruits, vegetables & nuts in the shell, but not melons, raw sprouts or wild
mushrooms.
2. Breads,
cookies, cakes, fruit pies, jams, jellies, candy and honey. No other home
canned items.
4. These items are
considered a craft and must be juried in by the Artistic Review Committee.
See schedule
on the
New Vendor Info Page.
If
you wish to sell more than outlined in item (1) above, you should consider using
a licensed commercial kitchen in compliance with Panhandle Health.
Note:
This does not pertain to food vendors who are licensed with Panhandle Health.
